Elizabeth is sooo great. It reminds me of illustrations from my childhood's book, somehow.

Heh, you know what, me too. :) Something between Szancer and Orłowska-Gabryś, remotely... And something else yet, but I can't grasp it at the moment.

Szancer is probably the most obvious, but - maybe Mirosław Pokora? He draw humans very differently, but some of the ornaments on her dress reminds me of the way he draw e.g. the waves or the forest.

The left hand is kinda... popart? comics-style? though.

By the way, after browsing the gallery I think that the artist would be definitely a great illustrator of children's literature. She's fantastic.

Nah, Pokora wasn't what I thought. But I looked before at the left hand too, and tried to recall. Got it! Antoni Wasilewski. I needed to get up and take this (http://www.antykwariatnws.pl/upload/book_id11406_1.jpg) from a shelf. Don't ask why??? this, the association just somehow worked for me. *g* Though still it's very possible I forgot someone else yet...

A bit too clumsy and messy yet, IMO, but there are glimpses. I really like this (http://tamitw.deviantart.com/art/Animals-385086349), or this (http://tamitw.deviantart.com/art/Masquerade-Mystery-383720030), or this (http://tamitw.deviantart.com/art/Stitch-383327443).

Well, you're the one which actually know something about art, so I'm just going to agree.

I have a drabble! (well, almost drabble. Drabble with sexy, women's curves, let's go on with that ; )). I wanted to write it and it wrote itself in English and A. is not there to check it for me. So I double-checked it, but I'm sure I messed up the articles (and everything else). I'm quite sure it will become a proper, slimy drabble in Polish (if I translate it), too.

A fan is a weapon, a message, a pocket-size hideout, an art work. But my fan, thought Elisabeth, is a cage, too, like a manners, duties, corsets and heavy jewellery – inseparable details, carefully chosen to fit each other nicely.

Fitting the others nicely. The art of good living, they said. A lie, a boredom, a lifeless existence, hissed Elisabeth’s inner voice, art of wasting one’s life. The lukewarm way. Like a fan’s breeze.

Yet she held her fans beautifully, proud and mysterious, covering her feelings with a modest, tactful smile and a flick of the wrist: the fan rising to her mouth, touching them, hiding the teeth, stopping all those improper reflections and words from being said.

Musings behind the silken golden curtain (such a pretty picture: that nice lady and handsome man, and that well-maintained garden, the dog, the bird in the cage) was hers and hers alone.

EDIT: o, po polsku. I dało się do stu (bo dosłownie było 113 ; )).

Wachlarz jest bronią, wiadomością, kieszonkową kryjówką, dziełem sztuki. Mój, myślała Elisabeth, też klatką, jak maniery, obowiązki, gorsety, ciężka biżuteria – nierozłączne detale, starannie dobierane, by pasowały.

Pasować. Sztuka dobrego życia, mówili. Kłamstwo, nuda, martwota, syczał głos w duszy kobiety; sztuka marnowania życia. Droga bycia letnim, jak powiew wachlarza.

A przecież Elisabeth nosiła wachlarze pięknie, dumna i tajemnicza, chowająca uczucia pod skromnym, taktownym uśmiechem, pod lekkim ruchem nadgarstka: wachlarz dotykał ust, skrywając zęby, wstrzymując nieodpowiednie słowa i pomysły.

Rozważania zza jedwabnych, złotych kurtyn (taki ładny obrazek: ta miła dama, przystojny mężczyzna, zadbany ogród, pies i ptaszek w klatce) należały tylko do niej.

Just remember it's more 'something' than 'know'. *g*

Yay, a drabble! And good one at that. I like the general idea, but even more I like the wordplays and associations - fitting the others, life lukewarm like a fan's breeze... And the juxtaposition of weapon/hideout/cage.

I'm sure I messed up the articles (and everything else).
Unable to help, I most certainly understand and sympathise at least. :)

Yay, you like it! I'm sooo happy. : ) I'm positively mortified when it comes to writing in English.

Jack's portrait is so vivid
For me, half of the impression is done by the way of presenting. I love the contrast between the fine, precise drawing and it's place - the tabletop, the tape...

It's so different, unique & very beautiful.
One doesn't often get a chance to see such style in fanart, does one?

My pleasure! :)

Such a sad shadowy Jack! Just the thing to remind us, there's a lot more to him than the cheerful cunning pirate.

Such a dangerous Davy Jones! We should never forget how formidable that claw is.

And such a charming image of pre-pirate Elizabeth! No doubt this prim and pretty existence was what she was headed for, until she fell off the wall... Funny ol' world, ain't it?

Thank you, thank you, and for the third time thank you!

This, oh this! Somehow always when I got down to draw him myself, I used to chose more serious moments. I like to see him not-so-stereotypical.

And such a charming image of pre-pirate Elizabeth!
Yup. Pirate Lizzie is awesome, but I also admire how fine lady she is when she wants.

Triple thanks for coming back here! :)

I love all of these! The one of Jack is so compelling; really like the way Davy Jones' altered hands are emphasized in the second one; and the one of Elizabeth seems a caricature that captures every aspect of her. Great choices!
