Important

Tiptoeing the problematic line between brazen hotlinking and posting a list of plain links for which no one will give neither a damn or a click *cough*and they'd need more description then*cough*, I decided to post a list of active teasers which, hopefully, are teasing enough to repay dA in clicking. A lot of clicking. PLEASE??? *desperate look* And putting the matter of dA's bandwidth aside, not that I deem this journal so extraordinarily popular to really strain it anyway, just do it to give these artists some love. If you can't comment or fav on dA, still you can click - let them know that their work is viewed. It matters too, really. And remember that often I don't bring here all of the artist's PotC-works, so it's worth to check all the gallery!
And yet a technical note: if you can't see any images, don't panic, there's a few possible ways.
1. Reload.
2. Try another browser.
3. Click titles.
4. If still nothing helps, let me know, please.

So, let's go?

Tethered by Robotsalad

In my private opinion, in the top five of the best of the best fanarts ever. CJS approves... or maybe not? Quite a fascinating conflict, don't you think?

Lovely! Minimalist artworks can be tricky to pull off, but this lot makes the grade.

And while I might not rate 'Tethered' on the Top Five Ever, I'd definitely put it among the top fifty. How many artworks have so deftly captured the spirit of Jack Sparrow with only a silhouette?

Exactly! It's a very special feeling, to run across a really really fine fanart.

It's amazing how much one can show by not showing.

My pleasure! :)

That first one really is an amazing piece of work, so different and beautifully rendered. But I do love minimalist art, they were all wonderful. Thank you for drawing them to our attention.

I was speechless having met 'Tethered' and smiled at sight of the others. Maybe the best thing in a minimalist artpiece is the surprise in it. And I thank you for paying your attention. :)

Later than usual... but I finally looked at them!! At first I was inclined to put Up is Down as my favourite but on second thoughts I agree with your choice. It's an amazing piece. Both are. I think they 'win' over the drawing of individual characters because it's so skilful to get so much 'personality' into a ship, where there are no facial elements to help.

I must admit that I also like 'Up is Down' very much, partially for that I like white-pastel-on-dark-paper technique in general, and the mirror trick is a fine idea here.

so much 'personality' into a ship
You mean, 'Tethered'? Ah, it's an interesting thought! What Jack would think about being a ship himself. Possibly he'd like it.

Yes, we are interested in more! I keep wondering what category will you feature next time. (My favourites so far, must have been the 'Personal Style' and 'Fanposters'.)

Myself, I've just caught up with your previous PotC fanart recs. DA is like YouTube and TVtropes in that respect, I find: once you start click-clicking, it's nigh impossible to stop. Exciting but time-consuming. =)

Thanks for all this lovely arty/piratey entertainment!

Exactly... *sigh* I use to say about such things: swamp walking can absorb you. ;)

I'm so glad you find my recs interesting. Stay tuned! ;)
