Photos - mostly green, a little wet

These are from 24 August 2015. It’s the Beskidy Mountains in southern Poland again; some less popular parts of them this time. Less popular meaning that 1. they’re less crowded, and 2. some people don’t know what they miss. ;)
Polish hills being wavy and a little windy… It’s surprising at times how private and calm can be a walk among meadows, and this place was both oddly sheltered and offering great sights. I like the clouds here, though I regret I had to cut the one on the left.
These are a sort of photos I always wanted to get, but it’s not so easy as one could think. It takes a proper weather and time of day. I aimed at even more simple, almost abstract, composition, but I’m still quite happy with the result. For me, that is. :]
And this is one of those you take, because they were there when you were walking by, and how you could say no? *g* Not sure and not having seeked what is this, just one of gazillions of yellow totally-like-all-others species we apparently have here. *shrug*
And this little guy thinks he’s perfectly camouflaged here, being so wood-shaped and all. *g* It’s a fungus by name stagshorn (Calocera). Polish name is pięknoróg, meaning literally beautyhorn. They’re more popular than you could think; I come across them almost every time I’m in some forest.
…and not even that deep in forest. The little one was a few paces from this road. Warning for a little manip. The earth isn’t really red in this place; I just decided it looks more interesting.
And this is “A Weird Composition with a Waterfall.” :P Photo of very poor quality, but I’m letting it online, because I love this color scheme. And no, there’s nothing twisted in this one, except a little contrast correction; it really looks as in the site. The rusty hue is from the fallen leaves, and the water is actually green in deep spots. Or was that day, at least. Color of water in local rivers and streams changes daily, depending on when it rained.
The site is somewhat unimaginatively called Głęboki Jar = Deep Ravine, and it’s the gorge of Życzanowski Stream. Or Rzeczanowski, sometimes. That’s because it’s named after a nearby village Życzanów/Rzyczanów/Rzeczanów, which to this day apparently can’t come to agreement about how it wants to be spelled… Even encyclopedias, maps, traffic signs and such have it varied.
And here you can play “spot the differences”. :3

Date: 2015-09-28 15:59 (UTC)This! Even different ones in one country. I have my favourite places, but It's always exciting to see some new. You never know when and where you'll find your next favourite, after all.

Exactly. And even a photo brought home is not always helpful. "Species A, if opposite leaf pattern. Species B, if spiral leaf pattern." Great, now if there was more than one leaf within the frame... Same with bugs. Entomological keys always want some element from the other side of the bug on the photo you have...
I just call them all 'the not-dandelions' and enjoy them.

*nods* Not exactly perfect circumstances for photos, and actually for any sightseeing, too. I know how it is. Still, the Lake District sounds very promising. I hope you have a great time!
