If the new sans serif font had been the original, would we have objected to a change to serif? I suspect so, because we get used to something and we like the familiar.
Most certainly. *g* I wasn't so much in love with the old logo in the first place (though I'm a long-year fan of their general idea of themed logos now nad then), but I was used to it. Also, my main reason for hating it is that it fits in a bigger trend I hate. Read my reply for Alumfelga up there, please, if you want details.
Firefox has enhanced the detail on its fox
*goes to check* Yeah, evolution without revolution, simplified without destroying. I've never been that big fan of the browser itself, but I always liked their icon.
I clicked and ended up having to load LJ again.
You mean it crashed your browser? Sorry about that. :( Disqus is a network-ish system letting you comment in different places (anywhere the site's owner has installed it) from one account, so you don't have to log in different commenting systems, and you get notifications that someone replied to your comment even months and years later. That's the theory at least; in practice it has its quirks and flaws as everything, but as long as it works as supposed, and as long as you're careful how you log into it (don't let it know about your fb and such), it's okay. Also, comparing to other systems, LJ including, it has a very convenient editing. Alas, it's rather demanding for browsers, as in: won't run on anything below IE9 and its equals. The link leads to the copy of this post on my Tumblr, which I have, among other reasons, to let people comment on my entries. That is, those people who can't do it on LJ, which apparently is really whimsical for some, sometimes even if they have accounts here. That's why I've got myself a Tumblr with Disqus attached to it. It's just another option for commenters to choose from.
