Ah! I forgot! My Wordpress blog is 'public' and so is my Dreamwidth one. But my Dreamwidth one is crossposted to my LJ which is f'locked for historical reasons to do with publishing etc. So the link was on my Dreamwidth blog and then got onto the f'locked LJ one - sorry you were confused by it! I have thought about unlocking my LJ but would have to go a few years back and individually lock a number of posts so haven't got round to it. When I started my LJ I was a bit naive about posting in general...

I agree with you about Dawkins. He has enabled people to discuss the issues in a new way. For myself, I have felt more comfortable with, and more informed by work by Christopher Hitchens, and a TV series by Jonathan Miller. But I like what Dawkins has given people who feel threatened by religious dogma. And yes, if a religious belief is held with confidence it should be able to stand up to discussion. I hope you get hold of The Ancestor's Tale - it is a beautiful and interesting book that gives a good overall view of the current thinking on evolution and does it in a very accessible and literary way.
