A handful of what's been going on about PotC 5 in the recent weeks, and what I haven't mentioned already in the last update.
So, apparently besides aforementioned we have Javier Bardem onboard, playing the main villain by name Captain Salazar. You'd never guess it's to be another captain, eh? -.- Also Martin Klebba (Marty) and Stephen Graham (Scrum) are back. And here's the official plot summary:
The shooting started on 17th February in Queensland, Australia and is rumoured to last five months, employing hundreds of Queenslanders and Village Roadshow Studios. Details here. 18th February, His Decisiveness Jerry Bruckheimer provided us with the first set photo. One can say it sort of has Jack in it... And we have been getting more from Joachim Rønning. Also, photos of ships being built has leaked, and some noisy-looking piracy. And even more quite promising photos from different crewmembers.

A dozen of horses? I'm sniffing another street race. Or is it a jailbreak?
Judging on other photos, it's the back wall of what looks like the town hall.
In following weeks, Johnny Depp's hand got injured. But looks like he'll live. :)
In the meantime, a petition has been launched, asking Disney not to employ live capuchins on the set. Jack the Monkey should be entirely digital this time, it says.
Among more confusing news, they say some guy with a parrot on his shoulder attacked a security guard on the set, and the police wants a word with him.
And recently a news came, if you are a highly qualified actress, meaning, with real tits, you can get a role. Meaning, they are short of properly wench-looking extras...

Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil's Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea...including him. Captain Jack's only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.A word is that Salazar has a special grudge against Jack, deeming him responsible for the death of Salazar's brother.
