Ladies, Gentlemen and Pirates, an announcement before we'll go to goodies.
With this issue, the recs officially become a weekly periodical and change the formula a bit. Issues will be shorter - you mentioned that they take a lot of time, and it's better to underfeed than to surfeit in this matter - and mostly unthematic. Every time you want, you can came back to any of them via the masterlist, with the permanent link on my profile. Let me know your opinion on this change. Maybe you have some wishes?

Some (all?) of you surely knows this artist. For me, Lizzie's expression and her general air is what makes this picture. Sure, you don't have to follow the king, it's your choice. Yep, keep telling it to yourself.

I'm all for the change! That's very true about the time constraints: I still haven't managed to get 'round to chekecking out a few weeks' worth of recs... Much less undrstand how you found the time to compile those (awesome) lists. =) So glad you're continuing with the fanart goodies. The masterlist is going straight => to bookmarks.

I've seen kheelan's work before, and it's one of my favourite pictures too. And that 'Magickal Pencil' thing by D17rulex? So dreamy it's haunting.

Experience with dA + catching things I run across, when the opportunity occurs. ;) Most of the material was collected before, the posting schedule was more or less ready long ago, the today's entry including.

Kheelan is awesome! There's more wonderful PotC fanarts in his gallery, but I love 'Drunk by Dawn' the best.

Really really pleased about the masterlist and shorter updates - I often had to leave your posts for a while because of time constraints, or even ignore some of the offerings, but with three or so pics/artists to explore I can do justice to them!

I did enjoy the themes you chose - and maybe some pictures are better appreciated in the context of similar things in which case I expect you'll give us mini-theme!

I love the Magic Pencil one. Not just the execution of the picture but the underlying idea!

I'm glad it turned out a good idea. I don't give up themes, but they will be speciall issues, not usual ones.

I'm always fascinated by this sort of art, like Escher's drawing (http://www.mcescher.com/Gallery/back-bmp/LW355.jpg) or this one (http://shimoda7.deviantart.com/art/Prisoner-of-my-own-33234157), and 'The Magic Pencil' is the most similar to this idea fanart I know, no wonder I like it.

It definitely reminded me of Escher as soon as I saw it!
