I sometimes have to do archaeological digs on Tumblr to find things people have plagiarised etc. for AO3. I always get lost and bewildered. I think Tumblr is probably a blog too far...

I'm not surprised in the least. It grows some truly bewildering sorts of mentality... *twitch* And as for getting lost, upon joining I've discovered why in the earth it's so messy and chaotic, compared to LJ. Turns out, everybody are so busy coding themes, patches to the system and whatnot, that they hardly have any time left for sorting out the actual content of this all. For one, Tumblr doesn't provide you with the tag page that works on its own; you have to code it all manually, no kidding! For a site that is supposed to be fancier and more shiny than LJ, it's surprisingly, ahem, medieval.

I truly hate it as the system, and some people there give me creeps, but it has the content I want to have at hand. Plenty of best fandom artists are there and only there, not on dA anymore... *sigh*

I forgot to add, I did it also because many friends that aren't on LJ have troubles with commenting here, even with OpenID. That's why Disqus was one of the most important things to take care of, when I set up this new blog. Among other things, it'll work as sort of mirror site, only with links instead full entries. Now people will be able to read here, and then choose the way of commenting that works best for them.

In case of future troubles with hunts and investigations on Tumblr, let me know. Maybe I could help. :)

Yes, I'd noticed a lot of art recs had migrated to tumblr - I can usually cope with those, as it's a sort of quick in and out! It's when I have to try to trace someone's work or get a contact address that I tear my hair out.

P.S. I really live on Dreamwidth - much quieter and more reliable than LJ - and then I crosspost. I have my 'public' Wordpress blog too. And I have a Blogger account but only to lurk and read what other people write. I will definitely be asking for tumblr help one of these days!

To jest jedyna i słuszna forma czytania! XD (No dobra, nie jedyna, ale założona, pierwotna, oryginalna.) Tzn. ja zmieniłam na ten nick ostatnio kiedy z koleżanką rozmawiałyśmy o odzywce "No chyba ty!" i padła ona tyle razy, że zaczęło to brzmieć dziwnie i jak jedno słowo, i jak imię jakiegoś dziwnego złego bohatera czy innego Draculi - ta dam! Lord Nochybaty. XD
