Fanart: Urban Magic icons and wallpaper

The full credits for the stock and fonts you’ll find on dA (all the images are clickable). Just a few additional explanations here, under the icons. If you take them as obvious, just assume they’re for others. ;)

#1. The London Underground’s official font is Johnston Sans by Edward Johnston, and you can get it and use. No, seriously! You just need to be a company and confess for what wicked use are you intending the font. If you have to add a kidney, the request form doesn’t mention it. Alternatively, you can have the commercial version for only 29£, no kidneys and no confessions. That’s why the icon has… the font Gill Sans, being basically the same in this resolution, by Eric Gill, Johnston’s student. How suitable. :)

#3. The font's name is Angryblue. A sheer accident, I swear. I don't choose fonts for their names, do I? *g*

#8. The mad, wild, spinning marble glow of the dragon that guards the gates of London. The sinking red vortex of an angry tiger burning bright … those painted statues of those mad-eyed dragons holding the shield with the twin crosses stood guard over the city … the dragons with the mad eyes guarded long-forgotten gates … When you look into their eyes you see nothing but endless insanity … The silver-skinned dragon holding his shield, red crosses in red crosses, eyes too mad to comprehend, tongue rolled out in a hiss against the night-time air! This particular statue by Charles Bell Birch guards the Temple Bar marker on the end of Fleet Street. And no, the original one has no lamp, as far as I know. *g*



As for the wallpaper, the quote is no actual exact one, but a compilation from A Madness of Angels, The Midnight Mayor and The Neon Court. I do recommend the full view; this sort of graphic does not like being compressed. That’s why I’ve brought ten resolutions, so you don’t have to squeeze/stretch/cut it and butcher the original image…

In case you’ve got a highly untypical screen, it’s not entirely impossible I can be persuadable to add it… Ahem. If you happen to have 1280 x 720, you can save it directly from the preview image, but if you want any other, you need: 1. follow the link to dA, 2. click ‘Download’ (on the right), 3. unzip the .rar you’ll get and pick your choice.
