aletheiafelinea: moving gif; a pencil drawing of a human eye shutting and then opening as a cat eye that shuts to open as the human one again, the cycle repeats endlessly (Default)

Photos: visitors

When it's raining, one has all sorts of guests...
The first photo from 24 July, the two latter from 26 July.

You let such ill-mannered git in, it's crouching a few hours somewhere in a corner, and then rattling half of night all over your ceiling. Ladybirds are ill-bred these days, really.

On the other hand, some flies are good in polite pretending that they don't notice ill-mannered, nosy, amateur photographers.

And this is a female Common Scorpionfly (Panorpa communis). If you're about to ask, yes, she's gazing at the lens. First she didn't notice it or didn't mind, but after a while, she turned her head and watched; a long, calm, observant look. I recommend the full view for details.

Tsk! And I always thought ladybirds were such nice well brought up creatures.

Amazing photographs!

Incredibly good! You have a true photographer's instincts about a good picture and the right moment. Your insect visitors are stunning!
