I'd never think I'll live to see Tolkien fandom dying off, but in recent years it seems like the average lifespan of a fandom is shorter than a mayfly's... Then again, Tolkien??? O_O

I like the idea with making sure jobless warriors don't get dangerously bored and the whole archeology thing. :) Middle Earth seems a pretty popular destination for such "dropping in with a short visit" crossovers (I've read at least three, each in a different fandom), so maybe someday...?
