I think it's temporary, just their way of making sure everybody notice the change. :P The worldwide page hasn't this animation; only regional versions use special logos these days. Of course, we still have to live with the new general logo, international page or not... Anyway, if you block redirecting to your regional page, you will at least get rid of this animation. Although blocking the Google redirection is quite a feat on itself, grr...
